Sally Potter
Dr Sally Potter is a social scientist at GNS Science, researching how people respond to forecasts and warnings, and how they can be better communicated. She has conducted research on impact-based severe weather warnings, reviewed New Zealand’s Volcanic Alert Levels, developed the Volcanic Unrest Index, and investigated how often historical unrest has occurred at Taupō caldera volcano.
She is the co-lead of the World Meteorological Organization’s World Weather Research Programme High Impact Weather project, as well as several New Zealand research projects.
